Mr. Finke is a focused and dynamic senior IT professional with over ten years of proven expertise in all phases of information and network security issues including security strategy, architecture, firewalls, virus protection, and operational services. As a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), he has performed security assessments for several government agencies. In addition, he holds a MBA from Regis University.

Mr. Finke’s diverse background consists of positions encompassing the creation of innovative, technologically advanced security solutions while maintaining enterprise-wide Windows and UNIX-based computer systems. He possesses excellent organizational and analytical skills, with the critical ability to identify security issues and quickly apply effective resolutions, as well as establish and implement backup and recovery plans.

Notable Experience

  • Project manager and lead security analyst providing Certification and Accreditation (C&A) services and guidance for several federal accounts with standards as set forth by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Federal Information Processing Standards Publications (FIPS), National Security Telecommunications and Information Systems Security Committee (NSTISSC), other Federal Information System regulations and USDA Regulations.
  • Performed logical security evaluations utilizing technical tools for Windows, UNIX, Netware, firewalls, and networks including Nessus, Nmap, NGSSQuirreL, and Sara.
  • Responsible for the implementation of a new security network architecture at Yellow Roadway Corporation, a Fortune 500 company. Also developed infrastructures for numerous clients including firewall design and implementation, network and wireless design and implementation, website design and implementation, and portal server design and implementation.
  • Technical project lead for a multi-team security project which provided a solution using Checkpoint’s NGAI54, Blue Coat caching servers, and CipherTrust’s Iron Mail.
  • Developed a custom database application for recording and reporting on the state of the security controls for a multitude of systems, saving the team 50% of the time to perform the work and increased the consistency of the data.
  • Implemented anti-spam and anti-virus solutions, including Postfix, Amavisd-new, SpamAssassin, and Interscan’s Viruswall; designed disaster recovery solutions for UNIX, Networking, and Firewall systems.
